PJRCES ACCREDITATIONS

Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)

PJRCES AccreditationsThe CDM allows emission-reduction projects in developing countries to earn certified emission reduction (CER) credits, each equivalent to one tonne of CO2. These CERs can be traded and sold, and used by industrialized countries to a meet a part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol.

The CDM addresses the second objective by allowing the Annex I countries to meet part of their emission reduction commitments under the Kyoto Protocol by buying Certified Emissions Reduction units from CDM emission reduction projects in developing countries. The projects and the issue of CERs is subject to approval to ensure that these emission reductions are real and “additional.” The CDM is supervised by the CDM Executive Board (CDM EB) and is under the guidance of the Conference of the Parties (COP/MOP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

PJRCES, Perry Johnson Registrars Carbon Emission Services, is accredited for Validation and Verification functions, for the following sectoral scopes:

(1) Energy Industries (renewable / non-renewable sources)
(2) Energy Distribution
(3) Energy Demand
(4) Manufacturing Industries
(7) Transport
(9) Metal Production
(12) Solvent Use
(13) Waste handling and disposal
(15) Agriculture

UNFCCC (CDM)’s accreditation program provides recognition from various organizations, including:
